ReceiptPulse is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

Information we collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, and authentication credentials.

  • Receipt data: images, merchant names, amounts, dates, and categories you capture or upload.

  • Usage data: features accessed, scan frequency, and session duration to improve the app.

  • Device data: device model, OS version, and crash reports for stability purposes.

  • Camera & Photo Library: accessed only when you scan or upload a receipt — never used for any other purpose.

How we use your data

  • To provide core app features: receipt scanning, OCR extraction, analytics, and PDF exports.

  • To sync your receipts securely across devices via our cloud backend (Supabase).

  • To send transactional emails (e.g. account verification, password reset).

  • To process subscription payments via Apple's in-app purchase system — we never see or store your payment card details.

  • To improve app performance and fix bugs using anonymised diagnostics.

Data Storage and Security

  • Your receipt data is stored securely in encrypted cloud databases.

  • Receipt images are stored in private, access-controlled cloud storage.

  • We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for all data in transit.

  • Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) is handled entirely by iOS — we never access your biometric data.

  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

Data Sharing

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

  • We share data only with essential service providers (e.g. Supabase for cloud infrastructure) under strict data processing agreements.

  • Apple processes subscription payments — see Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

  • We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Your rights

  • Correction: update inaccurate information from your profile settings.

  • Deletion: permanently delete your account and all data from Settings → Delete Account.

  • Portability: export your receipt data in PDF format at any time.

  • Opt-out: you may disable cloud sync and use the app in offline mode.

  • For GDPR / CCPA requests, email support@receiptpulse.io and we will respond within 30 days.

Push Notifications

  • Notifications are entirely optional and can be managed in Settings → Notifications or in iOS Settings.

  • We use notifications to remind you and inform you about system updates and changes.

  • We do not use notifications for marketing without your explicit consent.

Subscriptions and payments

  • ReceiptPulse offers paid subscription plans processed exclusively through Apple's in-app purchase system.

  • We do not collect or store any payment card information.

  • Subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple. Visit Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device to manage your plan.

  • Subscription prices and terms are displayed clearly before purchase.

Children’s Privacy

  • ReceiptPulse is not directed at children under the age of 13.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Policy Updates

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email.

  • Continued use of the app after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

  • The current version date is always shown at the top of this page.
